2012 Remembrance Day Mass at Our Lady of Peace

16 November 2012
As is traditional, the 99th Reading Scout Group lead the Remembrance Day Mass at Our Lady of Peace & Bl Dominic Barberi Church on 11 November.
There was a good turnout from all the Sections, and we are very grateful to the young people who came along and also to their parents for getting them there.
We were also joined by a contingent from the District Explorer Scouts Unit.
Pride is one of the seven deadly sins, but in this case we were all justifiably proud of the contribution made by the young people, from welcoming the congregation, carrying flags, reading, presenting the offertory, collecting the offerings from the congregation, playing the ‘Last Post’, escorting the Flags, to Parading with the Group and joining in.
As you can see from the pictures, it was a beautiful sunny day – though the sun was so low many of the youngsters had trouble looking due south at noon towards the camera!
